EVERION / FOR INSURERS & BROKERS

Crisis coordination for insured clients

An investigation or allegation can raise legal, business and personal questions at the same time. Everion is developing a service for insured clients, their advisers and D&O insurers, with clear engagements and visibility of the work undertaken.

The service under development starts with a limited initial engagement for a fixed fee. Hourly follow-up work is agreed with visibility of priorities and costs. Substantial case-file preparation or restructuring has a separate scope and budget. An insurer programme is a possible later step after practical validation.

How we can help

  • 01Agree a referral route or defined pilot that fits insured clients’ needs.
  • 02Establish the instructing client, payer and required cost approvals.
  • 03Agree scope, hourly rates, advance payments, budgets and reporting before work begins.
  • 04Evaluate availability, quality, cost and the insured client’s experience.

A defined collaboration proposal

01

Referral and start-up

A limited initial assessment that reuses existing information where appropriate, with one designated business coordinator for the client.

02

Engagement and payment

An agreed fixed initial fee. Hourly rates, advance payments and budgets are agreed for follow-up work. Substantial work has its own scope and budget. The payer and any cover are established in advance.

03

Focused reporting

An overview of agreed actions, work, budget and follow-up. Sensitive legal preparation and clinical records require separate protection and access arrangements.

Separate responsibilities for each workstream

The insured client retains independent legal representation. External criminal defence counsel conducts the defence and contracts directly with the client. Everion’s legal function and business coordinator have distinct roles. Contracting and billing arrangements for other partners remain part of the implementation work.

Validation through initial engagements

A pilot can test the value of coordination, hours required, payment arrangements and the quality of collaboration. Availability is agreed specifically. A permanently staffed or guaranteed overnight service is outside this model.

Clear responsibilities

Reimbursement depends on the policy, insured person, event, limits and insurer consent. External criminal defence counsel contracts and bills the client directly. The contracting and billing arrangements for other partners remain to be decided. A D&O policy does not automatically cover the entire service.

Frequently asked questions

Are insurer agreements already in place?

The proposition is in development. A referral opportunity, pilot or future collaboration is not an existing panel appointment or a commitment to cover costs.

Can a D&O policy cover crisis support?

Some policy wordings provide for investigation costs, crisis communications or personal support. Conditions and consent requirements vary. The insurer assesses the specific cover.

Who pays for work outside the policy?

The client and payer are identified for each engagement. Unapproved or uncovered work requires a separate payment arrangement. Requesting consent does not itself make the insurer the payer.

Does the insurer receive the full case file?

Reporting is limited to what is necessary, lawful and agreed. Sensitive legal preparation and medical information are not automatically shared. Legal materials require targeted coordination with counsel.

Does the service include a permanent emergency desk?

No. The model provides agreed out-of-hours availability with backup, without guaranteed continuous or overnight availability.
